How to build a podcast (and create a community with it)

My first interview on the show is with Pavlo Pedenko, product manager of Wise, who shared his learnings on building The Product & Growth Show - a well-known podcast for product managers and marketers in Ukraine.

We spoke about what to do first when starting a podcast, how to reach your audience, and got quite drunk on tequila.

Some of the other ideas we discussed include:

🎯 Focusing on big-name guests for your podcast can tangle you up in NDAs and red tape. Invite guests who you can have an open and valuable conversation with.

🌀 Building a small community (your ‘tribe’) for the podcast, and somewhere where they can interact, keeps you motivated and keeps production momentum going. For example, Pavlo built his podcast tribe in Soundcloud.

⏰ The organic discoverability of TikTok is insane and should be considered as an experimentation tool for marketers. (By the way, Idea Shots is on TikTok here).
